Dr. Alycia M. Brown is a double board-certified adult and child/adolescent psychiatrist with more than 20 years of clinical experience. She offers evidence-based, affirming care with specialized expertise in ADHD, anxiety, eating disorders, high-functioning autism, and LGBTQ+ mental health. Dr. Brown is dedicated to collaborative treatment that empowers patients of all ages to achieve meaningful, lasting wellness.
Walter “Carl” Credle, PA-C, is a certified Physician Associate with training in neuroscience and a focused background in psychiatric care. He provides compassionate, patient-centered treatment with special interests in ADHD, anxiety, depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Carl is committed to delivering thoughtful, collaborative care to individuals and families in Boone and the surrounding community.
Amber Moore serves as our Receptionist and Office Coordinator, managing scheduling, patient communication, and front-office operations. She earned a degree in missionary work from Bible college and is driven by a genuine desire to help others. Amber brings strong organization, customer service skills, and empathy to her role and enjoys hiking, baking, and embroidery outside of work.
Denise Begin-Petrovich serves as our Administrative Secretary, supporting scheduling, patient communication, and daily office coordination. She holds AA and AS degrees and brings extensive management and project leadership experience to the practice. Known for her compassion, teamwork, and strong communication skills, Denise approaches each day with a commitment to helping patients and colleagues feel supported. Outside of work, she enjoys staying active through mountain biking, hiking, and a variety of other sports.
We offer comprehensive psychiatric care for children, adolescents, and adults. Our team treats a wide range of mental health conditions with evidence-based, compassionate approaches tailored to each individual.
Submit your appointment request and our staff will review availability and contact you with next steps. You may also call or email our office to schedule directly. Telehealth patients must be located in North Carolina during their visit.
You’ll receive a secure link to your new-patient forms through your patient portal. Completing these promptly allows our staff to finalize your appointment.
Arrive 10–15 minutes early (or log in 5 minutes early for telehealth). Bring a list of medications or your bottle(s). A parent or guardian must attend the first appointment with any patient under 18.
Life is hectic! We want you to be able to access your provider easily, so we do offer video visits. This means that you can access care even if you don’t live in Boone. We use a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform for our telehealth sessions that is built right into your electronic medical record and patient portal. All you need is a computer or phone with stable Internet or WiFi access and some privacy!
